I always think to myself, isn't it obvious? Maybe not...let me explain.
History has always fascinated me - it's the only time I can read about dead people and not freak out. Just kidding (not really). Regardless, I also believe that our generation thinks less about learning about our past and from our species' mistakes and triumphs than it does about what song is newest and most popular or the latest fashion fad (in general, thinking too much about the here and now than to stop and think about the past or the future). In some ways, however, living in the present has its pros - read this little poem:
Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is a mystery,
But today is a gift,
That's why they call it the Present.

This kind of sentiment is also expressed in my choice of name.
No, actually, I was part of the YMCA's Indian Princesses and Guides program (later changed to the more politically correct version, YMCA Adventure Guides, it's sort of Girl or Boy Scouts but with your dad) with my dad. Everyone in our "tribe" had to choose an "Indian name" and I chose Little Star.

Anyways, I'll let you go and read some of my posts rather than read any more of my life musings.
Off to a distant galaxy,
Little Star
